Since 1998, VCS has built and sustained long-term alliances with hundreds of Police Departments, Municipalities, Correctional Agencies, Campus Law Enforcement, and Fire-Rescue Organizations throughout North America by providing  progressive employee management systems for scheduling, time and attendance, biometric identification, and emergency response notification procedures. A privately held company, VCS has chosen to exclusively serve the Public Safety and Governmental sectors and its collaborations with Public Safety entities has  provided VCS with a unique focus on scheduling and time/attendance needs for Public Safety.

In 1988, POSS was originally designed to include biometric time capture devices; automated notification hardware, bi-directional payroll data sharing, and multi-departmental rules based on shift scheduling.  VCS’ team of designers and subject matter experts realized early on that in order to accurately schedule employees, manage leave exceptions, share information with HR/Payroll, and automate the employee notification process; we would have to provide command staff with effective and customized tools to manage their scheduling, time & attendance and notification needs.  With POSS, that goal was accomplished and POSS continues to provide unmatched scheduling and time management capabilities for Law Enforcement agencies worldwide.

Since then, VCS has expanded our number of subject matter experts considerably, and are able to leverage these relationships and our growing employee base of scheduling professionals to provide customized tools for additional sectors of Public Safety.  In 2000, VCS introduced FIRES (Fire Rescue Scheduling System), a scheduling solution for Fire Departments as well as EMS and 911 Emergency Response Centers.

While other vendors attempt to provide “one-size-fits-all” scheduling software that can be used in varying industries, VCS has chosen to exclusively serve the Public Safety and Governmental populations.  Continued system enhancements and development capabilities have further led to the production of the COSS (Correction Officer Scheduling System) and TIMES (Time and Attendance) solution for municipalities placing VCS on the map as the only corporation providing distinct and separate customized scheduling solutions for all entities of the Public Safety marketplace.

Today, Scheduling and Time & Attendance systems are not new solutions and have been available for some time.  What remains relatively new, however, is the ability to combine a Scheduling system with a Time and Attendance Solution, and integrating the result with a sophisticated Notification System. From its inception, POSS and its complimentary suite of customized products were designed specifically with this objective in mind and continue to be the most powerful solutions ever offered for the Public Safety marketplace.
