Privacy and Security Policy

VCS Commitment to Privacy

VCS is committed to maintaining your confidence and trust, and accordingly maintains the following Privacy Policy to protect the personal information you provide online.

Security

VCS has implemented a number of security features throughout the VCS site to prevent the unauthorized release of or access to personal information. For example, database information is kept separate from live servers and is firewall protected. Please be advised, however, that although VCS has endeavored to create a secure and reliable site for you, the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted to or from VCS via the VCS site or e-mail cannot be guaranteed. When disclosing any personal information, you should remain mindful of the fact that it is potentially accessible to the public, and consequently, can be collected and used by others without your consent. VCS has no responsibility or liability for the security of information transmitted via the Internet.

Collection and Use of Information

In general, you can visit VCS’ Website and access information while remaining anonymous and without revealing any personal information. When you enter our website we can determine your domain name and what browser and operating system you are using, but we cannot determine any personal information about you. VCS uses this information only to scale technical implementation to match our audience’s browser capabilities.

When requesting information from us, or entering secure areas of our website, we do require that you provide some information about yourself by “registering” or completing an online form. For example, situations where we will ask you to provide information include, but are not limited to:

  • When requesting or purchasing software, license keys or printed materials;
  • When subscribing to VCS publications or mailing lists (you will be able to “unsubscribe” at any time);
  • When requesting product information or other information from VCS;
  • When registering for a user forum or to attend a VCS-sponsored event;
  • When participating in contests or surveys;
  • When registering a VCS product you have purchased; and
  • When entering a limited-access, premium portion of our website, such as our customer support knowledge base, you must “register” to receive a username and password.

The information we require is necessary to fulfill your request and to provide you further information about our products, services and support. If you choose not to register and provide personal information, you can still use most of the VCS Website. However, you will not be able to access areas or receive services that require registration.

Personal Information

In general, you may visit our web pages without identifying yourself or revealing any personal information. Some portions of the site may require you to give us personal information, which enables us to identify you, such as your name, email or other address. Our primary goal in collecting personal information is to provide you with a smooth, efficient and customized experience. This allows us to provide information that will meet your needs and make your experience easier. We recognize your right to confidentiality and are committed to protecting your privacy. We will not give, loan, or sell any personally identifiable information to any third party.

VCS may collect some personally non-identifiable information about your use of the Site to better understand our audience. For example, we may use this information in conjunction with other information to track the total number of site visitors.

Client Data

VCS Clients may electronically submit data or information for hosting and processing purposes (“Client Data”). VCS will not review, share, distribute, or reference any such Client Data except as provided in the VCS Subscription Agreement, or as may be required by law. In accordance with the VCS Subscription Agreement, VCS may access Client Data only for the purpose of providing professional services, preventing or addressing service or technical problems, at a Client’s request in connection with customer support matters.

Cookies

“Cookies” give users a unique, random ID by storing small text files onto a user’s computer hard drive with the user’s browser. Cookies enable a web site to track a user’s activities on a web site.

For example, VCS may use cookies on its download page to speed up users’ activities in not having to register more than once. VCS may also use cookies in other areas on its web site now and in the future. VCS’ cookies do not contain personally identifying information. Users are free to change their web browsers to prevent the acceptance of cookies.

VCS also uses third party cookies in online advertising efforts through specified Google tools. Google uses this information to personalize targeted advertisements to its audiences on non-VCS websites.

You must be at least 16 years of age to use this Website.
